Recovering redundant and end of life IT equipment from across the UK, we provide a secure asset retirement service that allows for the complete removal and data sanitisation of IT equipment.
The types of equipment that we collect include:Laptops, PCs, Monitors, Servers, Networking Equipment, Thin Clients, Mobile Phones, Desk Phones, Tablets, Audio-Visual Equipment, Printers, Scanners, Hard Drives, Data Tapes, E-Readers.
Collection requests are arranged within 5 working days, although this is dependent on the availability of the customer. A dedicated Account Manager liaises with the customer regarding suitable collection dates, times, locations and volumes.
All receptacles and lifting equipment are provided by us and on-site staff are trained to work quietly, efficiently, to be mindful of the customer’s working environment and to keep disruption to an absolute minimum. Our personnel carry ID cards and are security screened. The customer will be requested to sign a Waste Transfer Note to confirm the types and volumes of equipment uplifted from their premises.
Our vehicles have GPS tracking and are non-liveried so there is no indication of what is being transported. This also complies with the requirements of ISO 27001.
Customer assets are stored and processed in our secure facilities that are equipped with access control system, intruder alarm system and CCTV. Our premises are located in a secure, gated industrial estate that has 24/7 on-site security.
Upon arrival at our premises, equipment is sorted into data bearing and non-data bearing. An asset inventory is produced which lists all items received, cross-referenced against the customer’s own asset number (if available). All data bearing devices are quarantined and put through the data sanitisation process.
Re-Sale & Re-Use
All equipment that has residual value is re-marketed for sale which includes equipment that requires refurbishment and repair. The customer receives a report of all sales activity (cross-referenced against the customer’s original asset number, if available) together with a breakdown of costs and gross income achieved. When sales revenue exceeds costs, customers are offered a financial return. Costs are agreed at the time of collection enquiry, and it is usual that sales revenue exceeds any service costs.
For equipment unsuitable for refurbishment and/or re-sale, a manual dismantling process is undertaken with sub-assemblies and materials segregated for recycling where they are used in place of raw materials in industrial processes.
Prior to selling or recycling equipment, all items are de-branded. Branding often takes the form of an asset sticker but can also include company logos etc. All branding labels are destroyed and securely disposed of.
Audit Trail and Completion of Disposal
We provide the customer with a complete audit trail from collection point to data sanitisation, through to final sales and/or disposal. Each collection is allocated a unique Collection Reference and every item a unique ID, all of which are used throughout the whole retirement process for easy tracking and accountability. The customer receives the following documentation:
Waste Transfer Note and Hazardous Waste Collection Note (if applicable)
Asset Inventory which provides a complete breakdown of all equipment collected, cross-referenced against the customer’s own asset number (if available)
Data Sanitisation Certificates for all devices and items data sanitised
Sales Reports of all equipment sold with sale price per item
Environmental Report which gives a breakdown, by weight, per collection, of equipment that was re-sold, re-used and recycled.
