What happens to your data after disposal? A secure journey explained
Discover our secure IT asset disposal solution, delivering total transparency and accountability to companies and organisations throughout the UK and overseas.
At DSA Connect, we specialise in secure data destruction and sustainable IT asset disposal. From initial collection to final processing, every step is documented, audited, and certified – ensuring your data is protected and your organisation remains compliant.

Step 1: Secure Collection & Auditing
The process begins with the secure collection of your IT assets. Once collected, all IT assets are audited, and a full asset inventory is provided. This ensures complete transparency and allows you to track every item throughout the disposal journey.
Step 2: Certified Data Destruction
We use robust, certified destruction techniques to ensure that all data is completely removed from data-bearing devices. Full certification is provided, giving you proof of secure data handling.
Our destruction techniques include:
- Blancco
The most trusted data destruction solution, Blancco securely and permanently erases data from hard drives, SSDs, mobile devices, and more. It ensures that data is thoroughly and irreversibly wiped, preventing unauthorised access or data breaches. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) recommends the use of Blancco for secure data erasure. - Degaussing
Degaussing uses a strong magnetic field to permanently erase all data from hard drives and data tapes. Unlike puncturing, which may leave data recoverable, degaussing ensures complete and irreversible destruction. - Granulating
Solid state drives (SSDs) and hard drives (HDDs) are granulated to 6mm particles, physically destroying the device and making data recovery impossible. This is the most secure method for physical data destruction, especially for SSDs.
Step 3: Reuse of IT Assets
Devices suitable for reuse are tested using specialist diagnostic software and prepared for remarketing. Reuse helps extend the life of IT equipment and reduces environmental impact.
By reusing IT equipment:
- The demand for raw material extraction is reduced
- Energy use and waste generation are minimised
- Valuable resources are conserved
Step 4: Re-Sale with Revenue Share
We remarket IT assets through our extensive trade networks. Prior to remarketing, all data is eradicated with full certification provided. A percentage of the resale value is offered back to the customer through a revenue share model.
Step 5: Component Recovery
If devices are unsuitable for reuse due to obsolescence or damage, they are dismantled and processed through our rigorous recovery process.
We reclaim individual components to:
- Reduce electronic waste
- Recover valuable materials like metals, plastics, and rare earth elements
- Decrease demand for new components and manufacturing resources
Step 6: Responsible Recycling
Any residual materials or items considered hazardous waste are segregated and processed at a licensed WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) recycling plant.
Total Transparency and Accountability
Throughout the entire process, clients have access to a secure client portal where they can view:
- Full audit trails
- Reports
- Certifications
We don’t just claim security – we prove it with comprehensive documentation at every stage.
